Homemade Mayonnaise

I’m going to change things up for you this time and not give you a bread recipe! It will definitely compliment your homemade bread though!

I can’t believe I have never tried this recipe before. Part of my journey has been checking ingredients even closer and what I found in my mayonnaise was less than thrilling. “Bioengineered ingredients” was on there and I was not ok with that. And just like I did with my bread, I went searching and found out just how simple and delicious homemade mayonnaise can be!

All you need is an immersion blender and a few ingredients. Here’s the recipe to try and share with a friend!

Place the ingredients in your bowl in this order:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of avocado oil
  • 2 squirts of mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp of lemon juice

It looks a little crazy at first, but trust me, it will come together quickly.

Take your immersion blender and start blending at the bottom and work your way up. The mayonnaise will come together within 1-2 minutes.

Transfer to your jar and make sure to store it in the refrigerator!

This recipe will last about a week in our house of 5 that eats sandwiches daily. This recipe is kid approved and I don’t think we will be buying mayonnaise ever again.

Let me know if you’ve tried it!
